Good to know

The most shops and offices are closed for "siesta" between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The offices will normally only open in the morning and shops will stay open until 8:30 p.m.

Banks

All big spanish banks have offices in Torremolinos and open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. ATM's are virtually on every street corner in the center of town. Biggest Banks like La Caixa, Caja Madrid, BBVA, Santander and Unicaja have staff speaking English otherwise it can be a problem communicating.

BBVA Bank sells tickets to admit Alhambra complex in Granada.

There are some international banks like British Barclays and Deutsche Bank in town too.

Pharmacies

Finding a pharmacy is not a problem. They provide a good range of medicines and the staff is helpful. The one at calle Manatiales 8 is open 24/7

Supermarkets

Big chains like Mercadona, Eroski, Supersol, Carrefour all have supermarkets in town. The nearest to Nogalera gay area is Supersol in calle Casablanca.

Opencor supermarket some 200 meters from Nogalera gay area is open 7 days a week until 2 a.m. in the night and has all you may need from fresh bread to items like recordable DVD's and condoms. Spirits are only sold until 10 p.m. though.

Public transportation

Renfe Train station is across the Nogalera gay area. Direct line conects Torremolinos with Fuengirola - Benalmadena - Malaga. Trains run half-hourly and are very cheap. Unfortunately the service terminates early at around the midnight.

Bus station is some 10 min walk from Nogalera. There are good services to major cities in southern Spain ( Granada, Seilla, Cadiz etc.) and local coastal services to Marbella, La Linea (Gibraltar) and Malaga. Tickets are fairly cheap.

There are no night buses from Torremolinos

Taxi's

A taxi street point is just off Nogalera gay are on the edge of calle Danza Invisible. At all times there are plenty of taxies.

Post Office "Correos" is right off Nogalera in calle Danza Invisible.
