Beach and Sports
Beaches
Torremolinos has miles of long beautiful beaches and it is easy to enjoy one of them as they are easy to reach from any place you are staying in.
Lido / Poseidon beach.
Your easiest choice / Handsome local guys as well as tourists. Driving orientation: crossing of Calle Lido and Paseo Maritimo. Walking take the steps down from calle San-Miguel which is the main shopping street of Torremolinos. Then when on the boulevard turn left and walk for another 5 minutes. The beach is right behind restaurant Poseidon and Tourist Office.
Campo Golf.
Naked beach / Popular / Cruisy. Is some 3 km from central Torremolinos direction Malaga. Driving will take some 15 minites: follow Paseo Maritimo direction Malaga, in the end of the boulevard follow the curve and will find the way to the beach behind golf facilities. Walking is at least 40 minutes from the center. In the end of the boulevard continue over the beach. There is a bus connection as well though the bus is not very frequent. Line 10 runs from Alameda Malaga and Airport. Gett off at Campo Golf (Bus stop 1077)
Torrequebrada / Benal Natura.
Naked Beach / Rocks / Cruisy. Beautiful tiny beach hidden beneath rocks. Expect a kind of rock climbing combined with beach pleasures. Avoid week-ends in the high season as it is then quite straight. Accessible by car driving along the coast direction Benalmadena. The beach is downhill from nearby high rise of Torrequebrada hotel. Take steep steps down then. Parking can be a problem in the summer. A better option is taking a taxi which will cost some EUR 12 from Torremolinos. For budget minded take a local bus to Torrequebrada. One way ticket is under EUR 2
Cabo Pino.
Naked beach / Popular on week-ends / Dunes / All ages. Actually located in between Torremolinos and Marbella and only an option when you have a car. Take the highway direction Marbella / Cadiz, follow it for some 30 minutes and take exit Cabo Pino. From there follow through the dunes to beach.
Gyms
Atlantis. Crossing of calle San-Miguel and calle Casablanca. Steep stairs up. Mixed. In the gay area, rather old machines. In need of refurbishement. Not air-conditioned. Closed on Sundays
Sculpture. Calle Joan Miro, next door to OpenCor Supermarket. 3 minutes walk from gay area. Younger public. Mostly straight. Day card EUR 5. Small but clean and efficient gym. Mens sauna on Tuesdays and Fridays. Spinning classes. Closed on Sundays.
Plaza Mayor. Shopping Mall Plaza Mayor in between Torremolinos and the airpot. Train stop Plaza Mayor. Mostly straight. Big air-conditioned gym with modern machines and group classes. Swimming pool and sauna.
Sierra Nevada Skiing
Besides of all the possibillitys to sport in Torremolinos itself you can ski very nearby in the Sierra Nevada. From beach of Torremolinos you can see the snowy mountains. Or maybe better while skiing you can spot the Mediterranean sea.
It’s a terrific skiresort with very modern facilities (all thanks to the world championships a few years ago). Try it skiing and sunbathing on the same day. Or go skiing during the week in the Sierra and partying in the weekend in Torremolinos. It’s way cheaper then you think. And it gives your winter sport holiday the extra vibe you can’t get nowhere else in Europe !
